Programs and Services

Many young people have multiple problems that call for different services. The School Based Youth Services Program was designed to provide health and social services that are available to all youth. Recreation is also provided. There are no fees or eligibility requirements. However, services can not be provided to a student without a signed parent/guardian consent form on file. The SBYSP provides services before, during, and after school and throughout the summer.

Los jovenes tienen necesidades y problemas que requieren distintos servicios. El SBYSP fue implementado para proveer servicios a todos los jovenes que asisten a la escuela. No hay requisitos para ser elibible ni se require pagar por estos servicios. Sin embargo para ofrecer estos servicios requerimos que los padres nos den su consentimiento por escrito. EL SBYSP provee servicios antes de clases, durante las clases y despues de las clases.

Nuestros Servicios son:

  • Servicios de salud y prevencion de enfermedades
  • Servicios de apoyo a la familia y de salud mental
  • Programas de recreacion por las tardes y en verano
  • Programas de Integracion Familiar
  • Asesoria en abuso de substancias adictivas
  • Servicios de apoyo al aprendizaje
  • Programas de prevencion de embarazo


Nurse Practitioner
An on-site primary health care professional who provides students with confidential medical services and health counseling.

Crisis Counselor
The crisis co0unselor assesses social, emotional needs, of students and their families. This counselor is available for crisis intervention and assists and arranges for emergency social services.

Reproductive Health Specialist
This is a on-site sexual education counselor who provides pregnancy testing and family life education.

Community Resource Specialist (CRS)
The CRS represents the link between the family, school, and the local community. This specialist has access to a diversity of resources such as the business community, churches, charitable organizations, social service agencies, police, criminal justice systems representatives, affordable housing, neighborhood organizations, and to the many informal networks existing in the local community. The CRS introduces students and families to the resources available to them and indirectly function as a catalyst for the community to support their young people.

Family Counselor (FC)
This counselor coordinates all aspects of the family intervention process for the adolescent and his/her family. The FC carries the clinical responsibility for the overall management of all cases. The FC represents the intervention and treatment services available to students at risk of violence, substance abuse or school drop-out.
