The New Camden High

It’s a great time to be a Panther!
After decades of watching the Castle on the Hill fall into disrepair, in 2016 the State of New Jersey Schools Development Authority committed over $130 million to reconstruct Camden’s most famous public high school for future generations.

The new Camden High School campus is expected to open its doors to over 1,200 students in Fall 2021. The traditional District public high school will be home to four small learning communities - Brimm Medical Arts, Creative Arts High School, Big Picture Learning Academy, and Camden High School. The school will offer state of the art facilities to meet each school's specific learning needs, including a world class auditorium for Creative Arts, modern, fully equipped science labs for Brimm, and Drill Rooms and seminar space for Camden High and BPLA. The school will have modern gymnasiums, weight and locker rooms, cafeterias, media centers, and staff resources that rival the best public high schools in the State.

Since its construction began in 1916, Camden High School has been the pride of Parkside and the City. It has been the training ground for future physicians, NJ Supreme Court Justices, Supremes singers, and sports stars. Today’s students deserve to attend a Camden High School with the same great facilities these alumni enjoyed so many years ago. That is why reconstructing The High remains a top priority for the District and community.

The history and legacy of The High are an important part of the fabric of this City, and will be preserved in the new Camden High School. Explore the links on the left to learn more about the new Camden High School Campus and sign up to keep in touch about Camden High School reconstruction news.
